Hotel Islazul Mirador de Mayabe
The 2-star hotel Mirador de Mayabe is located in a passage of great beauty, in the vicinity of the Valley of Mayabe, an area characterized by its cool temperatures, fresh water streams and fertile lands. For visitors who are passing through Holguín, a couple of days here, away from all stress, would be great.
Built in 1974 with a compact but pleasant style and not lacking in small originalities, the hotel has a tradition. According to local legend, five decades ago a small donkey named Pancho used to enter the restaurant and drink the beer that remained in the bottoms of the bottles the waiters gave him, a practice that has been maintained until now with his descendants.
On the other hand, the Hotel Mirador de Mayabe is charming, surrounded by lush gardens, with facilities of semi-rustic appearance and original decorations. It has a swimming pool, a solarium, a restaurant and a bar, as well as national and international telephone service, a shop, laundry, currency exchange and car rental.
The rooms, on the other hand, are not particularly large, but they are comfortable and pleasantly decorated, although without excess. All have air conditioning, hot and cold water, minibar, telephone and TV.
In a general sense it is a simple hotel, without great pretensions, but very comfortable and advisable for those who want to see, in the foreground, the nature of Holguín. A good place to spend as a couple, far from any discomfort.
