Hotel Encanto Plaza Colón
The 4 star Hotel Encanto Plaza Colon is one of the most attractive of Gibara, a town very famous not only for hosting the International Festival of Poor Cinema, but for its charm of simple town, with romantic airs, sea and fishermen.
The hotel, recently renovated in 2017, is a tribute to the culture of Gibara, with a decoration very in tune with the local fishing tradition. It also pays tribute to some of the great Cuban artists from here, such as the famous Manuel Galván, member of Los Zafiros, a very popular band in Cuba during the 60s.
Bearing in mind that Gibara is growing more and more as a tourist destination, given the richness of its culture and the simple beauty of its streets and houses, there are several options for those who visit it, such as yacht clubs or several paladares (private restaurants) specializing in seafood.
Plaza Colón also has an ŕ la carte restaurant and also a bar. It also offers horseback riding, ecological and cultural excursions and national and international telephony, as well as access to the Internet through prepaid cards. Those who like a bath on the beach, may do so at nearby beaches, and those who do not, have a whole village to explore.
The rooms are comfortable, sumptuously large and very well decorated, achieving a very grateful air of familiarity. They have, among other things, air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, private bathroom with hot and cold water, minibar and kingside beds.
In general, a nice proposal to discover Gibara, a simple but really charming little town.
