Hotel Islazul Pernik
The 2 star hotel Pernik is located in the modern area of the city of Holguín. It supposes a simple enclosure, quite elementary and fundamentally for visitors with little budget.
Perhaps the most attractive feature of the hotel is the possibility of renting from there tours to places of cultural interest, such as the Loma de la Cruz, the Periquera (current History Museum), the San Isidro Cathedral and the Museum of Natural Sciences. In addition, given its proximity, you can make visits to the town of Gibara, the Bariay National Monument Park and Pesquero Beach.
For the rest, the hotel has a simple and basic decoration. It also has buffet and specialized restaurants, lobby bar, snack bar, swimming pool, party rooms, Internet access through prepaid cards, shop, currency exchange, meeting rooms, a small nightclub and parking.
It also has 200 air-conditioned rooms, in addition to other 9 converted into galleries, dedicated to various Cuban personalities from the world of culture, such as Leo Brouwer, Nelson Domínguez or Esther Borja, among others. The rooms include hot and cold water, telephone and television.
There are some complaints regarding the cleanliness of the rooms and the treatment of hotel staff. In any case, Hotel Pernik seems best for short stays, preferably a day or two. For those who can afford it, there are better options in the city.
